By Finding signs of the end times is so deceiving. The angel Gabriel, performs his promise made to Daniel in the foregoing chapter of the book that he would “show him what should befall his people in the latter days,” according to that which was “written in the scriptures of truth: “No word of God shall fall to the ground; but what he has designed, what he has declared, shall infallibly come to pass. Daniel was told that this revelation pertained to the latter days or the far generation, (Daniel 10:14) which is “now” the end times generation.

We know that everything about this prophecy was not fulfilled during the career of king Antiochus Epiphanes, and Daniel 11:36 begins to look more towards this final world dictator, who is sort of a “last days Antiochus Epiphanes, the antichrist “. Jesus specifically said the real ABOMINATION of DESOLATION was still in the future (Matthew 24:15). THE FINAL SIGN: “The ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION” will stand in the “HOLY PLACE OF THE TEMPLE”; the antichrist. The following verses foretold this sign:

Daniel 12:11 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the ABOMINATION that makes DESOLATE set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.”
SETTING UP THE ABOMINATION THAT CAUSES DESOLATION:
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.” Romans 12:1 ASV
Abominations translates an ancient Hebrew word (shiqquwts) that is connected to HORRIFIC IDOLATRY (Deuteronomy 29:17, 1 Kings 11:5-7, 2 Kings 23:13). The idea is that the coming antichrist breaks the covenant and brings an end to sacrifice and offering by desecrating the HOLY PLACE of the TEMPLE with a horrific idolatry. The people will embrace the Antichrist as a political messiah, if not the literal Messiah. Jesus predicted this in John 5:43: “I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive”. They shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation: Destroying the very inner connection to God in the core of this Holy Temple. The antichrist sets up at the holy temple altar, proclaiming himself as god. He demanded sacrifice to this image, and desecrated the temple. “It was in truth an abomination, which brought a desolate condition to the Temple, for now no one would come to worship at all.” (Wood). WHAT IS THIS HOLY TEMPLE OF GOD THAT WILL BE DESECRATED?
“And Jesus WENT OUT FROM THE TEMPLE, and was going on his way; and his disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple. But he answered and said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, THERE SHALL NOT BE LEFT HERE ONE STONE UPON ANOTHER, THAT SHALL NOT BE THROWN DOWN .” Matthew 24:1-2 ASV
1. TEMPLE OF JERUSALEM: Prediction Jesus made in this chapter is to see them all or mostly all fulfilled in the great destruction that came upon the temple of Jerusalem and Judea in A.D. 70. The manner of expression is observable; he not only went out of the temple, but departed from it, took his final farewell of it; he departed from it, never to return to it any more; and then immediately follows a prediction of its RUIN. His private discourse with his disciples; he left the temple, but he did not leave the twelve, who were the seed of the gospel church. When he left the temple, his disciples left it too, and came to him.
Note: It is good being where Christ is, and leaving that which he leaves. They came to him, to be instructed in private, when his public preaching was over; for “the secret of the Lord is with them that fear him.” The temple of Jerusalem was not the final place for the antichrist to reign and conquer for Jesus already proclaimed its destruction and even Himself departed from that man made temple.
