Many are into just accepting what was offered and believed they’ve grown up to such beliefs, ideas and practices,so they’re sticking to it for life. Church are no exempt, as being manipulated by the system. Have no choice but to bow down and accept the set standards of the world. Haven’t you wonder if you really have the chance to dig the Bible or just listen to what the preacher had told you about Jesus? Have your eyes been touched by Jesus and made you see Him personally?
Churches around the world, indeed are now moving into virtual worship services, online services, live streams, recorded services, or zooms. What’s next? Is a virtual Lord’s supper is going to be the next wave as we come to this virtual worship services? A Virtual worship services, the global system enforcing to moved online, will soon become a “Church in the Meta Verse”.
Joe Allen being asked to host the War Room channel presented “Images of Jesus” research over the course of two shows. How the images of Jesus have change from the time of Christ himself through the spread of the early church to Orthodoxy, into the Protestant Reformation, and the post modern period where we find ourselves seen the images of Jesus been distorted perverted in outside what is really intended by the Gospel. The images of Jesus put together in the modern era, as donated by various nations. The actual transformation of Jesus into a racial archetype more relatable in the eye of christian worshippers like the African Jesus, Chinese, Thai, etc. The message of Jesus had to be transmitted to various languages and the images of Jesus often times were transformed in order to capture the nations of worshippers.
The world sees Jesus as what in the “Heliand” portrayed as the “Chief Being” followed not by fishermen or by tax collectors ,but by warriors . The attempt to translate the gospel into the tradition of the German people was a distortion of the Gospel and not the original intent of Matthew ,Mark, Luke and John. The conversion of the Roman people through these translations which keep moving on into the modern period. These various conversions of the images of Jesus where people predicting their own values on them either it’s economic, political or technological. Does Jesus survive in this images as spiritual being or the use of the imagery actually obscuring the true Jesus of the Gospel, and the true Christ of heaven . They transform the images of Jesus into technological society. The church in the meta verse. Online services have become so popular and now coming to a virtual reality. The christians coming to this path are more distant from the original intent of the Gospel.
The world imposed a “Cosmic Christ” as painted by Alex Gray, the Christ for the modern world. This is one of the many ways that one could approach the divine. The name Cosmic Christ comes from a Jesuit priest declaring life on earth is evolving towards the total unification of humanity and joining the human spirit and cosmic spirit combining the entire universe. They believe this was occurring by the use of technology. The entire planet is being wired into one single ultimate unity which human soul will be unified by the cosmic christ the concept of “Singularity”.
In the Bible many were having a hard time recognizing the true Messiah Jesus. In John’s gospel, Mary Magdalene stands by the tomb and somehow doesn’t recognize the resurrected face before her. “She did not know that it was Jesus. … Supposing Him to be a gardener, she said to Him, ‘Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you have laid Him.’ Then Jesus says “Mary” and her eyes are opened.
“And having risen early on the first day of the week He appeared first to Miryam from Maḡdala, from whom He had cast out seven demons. She went and reported to those who had been with Him, mourning and weeping.” (Mark) 16:9-10
Later on, this happens again while Peter, Thomas, John, and a few other disciples are fishing after the empty tomb and first appearances. They see Jesus walking on the beach, but do not recognize Him. Only after Jesus performs a small miracle — blessing their nets to catch many fish — does John, “the beloved disciple,” realize it is Him.
This happens in Luke, too, with two disciples on the road to Emmaus. After walking with Jesus some way — totally unaware it is Him— they encamped. At the dinner table, Jesus took the bread “and blessed, and broke it, and gave it to them. And their eyes were opened and they recognized Him.”
Despite the many encounters and experiences being recorded in the Bible, the meaning of Jesus’s enigmatic face remains a puzzle for all. The Gospel is the clearest portray of the images of Jesus and His nature. Though how this world is trying hard to deceive you of His real identity, the ultimate Truth will always triumph. Believe,accept Him and live by His Word and you will recognize Jesus personally. No one can claim he knows Jesus unless He had touched your heart, called your name and dined in with you. Same as you can’t see and recognize Him, unless He had opened your eyes to the Truth. Do you want an encounter with Jesus?
