Revisiting the Characters in the garden of Eden… the beginning of the end.

In this corrupted world one would wish to withdraw for even a certain time to ease off pressures in life. One for sure would choose to visit a nature paradise. No other such one as the garden of Eden. A wondrous creation made by a loving Creator for His masterpiece “human”. Ready to revisit that place? Ask yourself: Haven’t you wonder why the grandest of the garden was not enough for man to decide not to disobey God’s command and be punished? What really makes it forbidden trees? What fruit did Adam and Eve partake off? What tree? Was it an apple tree?

The main characters in the garden who affected mankind by their actions are the serpent, trees, Adam and Eve. The once peaceful and serenity place was destroyed by their disobedient acts. Considering first the culprit. It began in the Garden of Eden with the serpent. That cunning serpent. The serpent was a beautiful beast of the field and cursed to crawl on its belly as a snake. So we are told (deceived?) the serpent “evil” is a snake.? Wants to know who’s the serpent?

Genesis 3:1 “Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, Yes, has God said, You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

The word serpent was translated from the Hebrew word נָחָשׁ (nachash) which also is related also to mean of “shining”. In The Companion Bible,1 E. W. Bullinger wrote the following: “Isaiah 14:12 where the English “shining one” or the Latin “lucifer” translate the Hebrew word הֵילֵל, helel. (You can find the word here:

“In that day, the LORD will punish with his sword, his fierce, great and powerful sword, Leviathan the gliding SERPENT, Leviathan the coiling serpent; he will slay the monster of the sea.” (Isaiah 27:1)

Also the Hebrew word transcribed as “serpent” in Genesis 3:1 is Nachash ( from the root Nachash to shine.) and means a shining one. In Chaldee it means brass or copper because of its shining. In Isaiah 6:2 & 6 the word Saraph means a burning one. Because the serpents mentioned in Numbers 21 were burning, in the poison of their bite, they were called Saraphim or Seraphs.

• a biblical name for Satan (see Gen. 3, Rev. 20).noun: Serpent; noun: the Serpent a dragon or other mythical snake-like reptile.”fire-breathing, flying serpents” a sly or treacherous person, especially one who exploits a position of trust in order to betray it.

The SERPENT; LUCIFER, the SHINING ONE as what Prophet Ezekiel described his adornment: “You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: carnelian, chrysolite and emerald, topaz, onyx and jasper, lapis lazuli, turquoise and beryl. Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared.” Ezekiel 28:13

The SERPENT as GUARDIAN CHERUB in the garden of GOD. Ezekiel confirmed this identity: “You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you.”Ezekiel 28:14-15 NIV

The SERPENT, LUCIFER, SHINING ONE , GUARDIAN CHERUB of the garden was once been blameless , skillful; crafty (trade), full of beauty and wisdom. All these has turned him wicked, proud, dishonest, deceiver and sinner not worthy to remain as guardian cherub in EDEN THE GARDEN OF GOD.

“You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you. Through your widespread trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings. By your many sins and dishonest trade you have desecrated your sanctuaries. So I made a fire come out from you, and it consumed you, and I reduced you to ashes on the ground in the sight of all who were watching. All the nations who knew you are appalled at you; you have come to a horrible end and will be no more.’ ”Ezekiel 28:15-19 NIV

And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”Genesis 3:11 NIV

In Genesis chapter 3, the Bible tells us God calls for Adam and he is hiding. God already knows what took place, he is all knowing. Does it not make sense that now Adam’s mind is knowing what he did wrong because he is no longer feeling the same and his heart is heavy with guilt for he now has his head filled with lies and emotions he never felt before. He knows he is not the same as he was before he looks at his animal flesh and weeps. He is ashamed for in now he is filled with opposite feelings than the ones he had before he partook in the knowledge he was fed and now his mind is racing. Eve has told him the things the shining serpent told her and now they are both confused, fearful, ridden with guilt and lost and alone for they believe they are unworthy and are ashamed and both of them are now hiding from the presence of God. But God took pity on Adam and Eve and gave them a way back to Paradise. God has always had a plan from the beginning to the very end. (1.Dianne Marshall as quoted).

2 Corinthians 11:3 KJV “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” Many considered that in this deception the “serpent” Guardian Cherub had introduced Eve to the idea of sex and relate this to Adam. Because at first though they’re naked, yet no shame ever occurred to them until Eve was deceived. This was also obvious in the punishment of the serpent’s and Eve’s offspring. “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” Genesis 3:15 NIV

And so when they were punished as leaving the garden Adam then called her his “wife” to be a mother of his children. The sin of sexual immorality and fornication pave the way. The carnality of man took place evidently here.

“Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. Adam and his wife were BOTH NAKED, and they felt NO SHAME.” Genesis 2:22, 25 NIV

“Then the EYES of both of them were OPENED, and they realized they were NAKED; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.” Genesis 3:7 NIV

“Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living.” Genesis 3:20 NIV

“And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not EAT from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you EAT from it you will certainly DIE.”Genesis 2:16-17 NIV

The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not EAT fruit from the tree that is in the MIDDLE of the garden, and you must not TOUCH it, or you will DIE.”Genesis 3:1-3 NIV

The Lord came speaking in metaphors and parables of Trees and Fruit…why is that? The Bible is very clear to refer a “Tree” to a life, a living thing. As what Judges do… Judges: 9:8 “The TREES went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said unto the OLIVE TREE, Reign over us.” Does it have anything to do with the roots of the tree? The branches of the tree? The fruit of the tree? What is this tree? What was forbidden for Eve and Adam to do is to EAT the FRUIT AND TOUCH THE TREE .A tree is known by it’s fruit…“Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit.” Matthew 12:33 NIV

THE TREE OF KNOWLEDGE was REFERRED TO LUCIFER, THE SERPENT, THE GUARDIAN CHERUB IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GARDEN. who deceived Eve to succumbed , accepted the FRUIT of his FIERY LIES and WICKEDNESS ; shared it all to Adam and both died spiritually before the CREATOR. Opened their eyes got the knowledge that they’re naked. This lead to a fleshy awareness and sexual self gratification of man.The beginning of the end of the wondrous, amazing life in the garden of Eden .

“They ate of the fruit of the tree… the fruit of the tree is the works of the tree. All the trees in the garden produced good fruit, good works except one… that tree produced the opposite fruit of the fruits of God which are Holy and Good. That tree produced discord, confusion, lies, anger, fear, frustration, fornification, destruction and led to death and hell.” ( 2..Dianne Marshall as quoted)

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 NIV

It is said the LORD JESUS was referring to Himself as the GREEN TREE which bears FRUIT and is HOLY , and if they will crucify Him who is innocent and Holy … what will they do to a TREE that is DRY …with SIN (man)? Luke 23: 31-33 “ if they do these things in a GREEN TREE, what shall be done in the DRY ? And there were also two other, MALEFACTORS, led with him to be put to death. And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified HIM, and the MALEFACTORS, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.” (1,2,3..

Why did Jesus call Himself a tree at all? There are many scriptures that refer to trees, here are the scripture in its’ fullness see the greater meaning. So I encourage you to look these up. For the trees have great significance:

Jeremiah 17:7-8: 7 “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

1 Chronicles 16:33 “Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because he cometh to judge the earth.

Psalms 1:3 – And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Job 14:7 – For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.

Daniel 4:22 “Your Majesty, you are that tree! You have become great and strong; your greatness has grown until it reaches the sky, and your dominion extends to distant parts of the earth.”

Daniel 4:10-12 – Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great.

Matthew 7:17 – Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

The tree of knowledge “Lucifer” had open the CARNAL AND MORAL MIND brought separation and destructions, THE BEGINNING OF THE END! The TREE OF LIFE “JESUS” will bring ETERNAL , ABUNDANT LIFE. GOD has made it secured, guarded ( by another cherub) to TRIUMPH IN AN APPOINTED TIME, SUCH AS TIME AS NOW! HEARKEN ! JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE!

“And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.” Genesis 3:22-24 NIV

John 15:4 “ Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” 9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. “

  1. I love how you accuratey and cohesively exlained the symbolism used in Genesis 3. If Satan uses our knowledge of morality and his fiery schemes to give us death, Jesus gives us the tree of eternal life in the new Garden of Eden (Heaven).
