A phrase speaks that there are occurrences of bizarre things around. An event which has been told long ago in the scripture and now are evident. Biblical prophecies are unfolding to one who’s willing to know, see and hear the truths as revealed. Haven’t you wonder what are these occurrences declared by John in the book of Revelation? Are you troubled by these claim of the “Beast” marking of the people?
THE SETTING
John of Patmos (also called John the Revelator, John the Divine, John the Theologian) is the name traditionally given to the author of the Book of Revelation. The text of Revelation states that John was on Patmos, a Greek island where, according to most biblical historians, he was exiled as a result of anti-Christian persecution under the Roman emperor Domitian. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_of_Patmos
In the opening lines of that account, John refers to himself as “your brother, and companion in tribulation” and says he was “in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.” (Rev. 1:9.) Apparently John had been sent to the island because of his testimony.
The Setting: Conventional understanding has been that the Book of Revelation was written to comfort beleaguered Christians as they underwent persecution at the hands of an emperor. The island is butterfly shaped, some ten miles long and stretching to five miles wide on the upper and lower portions. It is barren, rocky, and steep. Water was captured in basins through rainfall. This inconvenient place drove John in reaching out those in persecutions in his writing.
Revelation 13:18 “Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.”
ANCIENT VIEW OF THE “BEAST”:
Bible numbers have a deeper symbolic meaning, especially when the Bible tells us in the case of Revelation 13:18 to “calculate the number of the beast.” Anybody familiar with the Bible understands that numbers are important. Some see “GEMATRIA” everywhere in Scripture. Gematria is an interpretive method that assigns numerical value to letters, words, and phrases. Most of us are unfamiliar with this method since we have a separate alphabet and numbering system. Notice that the number is “six hundred and sixty-six,” not three sixes. The three Greek letters that make up the number represent 600 (ἑξακόσιοι), 60 (ἑξήκοντα), and 6 (ἕξ). In John’s writings, especially in Revelation, the use of both Greek and Hebrew was evident. 1. When Nero Caesar’s name is translated into Hebrew, it was “Neron Kesar” or simply “nrwn qsr”, since Hebrew has no letters to represent vowels. (The w represents a long “o” sound and the q represents the “k” sound in Hebrew.) “It has been documented by archaeological finds that a first century Hebrew spelling of Nero’s name provides us with precisely the value of 666. When we take the letters of Nero’s name and spell them in Hebrew, we get the following numeric values: n = 50, r = 200, w = 6, n = 50, q = 100, s = 60, r = 200. Put together, the sum is 666. Nero had a reputation as an immoral beast. Nero was an animalistic pervert. He kicked one of his pregnant wives to death. He murdered his mother. He set Christians on fire to serve as lamps for a dinner party. He would dress up as a beast and rape both male and female prisoners. He made Christians “wrapped in animal skins and torn apart by dogs; others were crucified and set aflame after being soaked in oil. And he was the covenant head of Rome—that great Satan.
2. The Jews had seen the number six hundred and sixty-six before (not 6-6-6 but 600+60+6= 666). Prior to Solomon’s slide into apostasy, a description of his reign is given. One of the things said about him is that “the weight of gold which came in to Solomon in one year was 666 talents of gold” (1 Kings 10:14). From the number of shields (300) to the price of a horse imported from Egypt (150 shekels), we find round numbers, except when the number of gold talents is mentioned 666. Solomon was enslaved to Gentiles through illicit trade, the idol worshipping wiles of his women, and his lust for gold.
BIBLICAL VIEW OF THE “BEAST”:
The thirteenth chapter of the Book of Revelation received as a vision by St. John on the Greek island of Patmos describes the rise of two Beasts, same as portrayed in the book of Job:
1. LEVIATHAN: the blasphemous Beast EMERGES from the sea. “KING OVER ALL THE CHILDREN OF PRIDE.” Job 41:34
Leviathan, Hebrew Livyatan, in Jewish mythology, a primordial sea serpent. Its source is in prebiblical Mesopotamian myth, especially that of the sea monster in the Ugaritic myth of Baal (see Yamm). In the Old Testament, Leviathan appears in Psalms 74:14 as a multiheaded sea serpent that is killed by God and given as food to the Hebrews in the wilderness. In Isaiah 27:1, Leviathan is a serpent and a symbol of Israel’s enemies, who will be slain by God. 2. BEHEMOTH: A second Beast then rises from the earth. “THE CHIEF OF THE WAYS OF GOD”. Job 40:19
Behemoth (/bɪˈhiːməθ, ˈbiːə-/; Hebrew: בְּהֵמוֹת, bəhēmōṯ) is a beast from the biblical Book of Job, and is a form of the primeval chaos-monster created by God at the beginning of creation; he is paired with the other chaos-monster, Leviathan. Metaphorically, the name has come to be used for ANY EXTREMELY LARGE OR POWERFUL ENTITY. Behemoth is mentioned in a speech from the mouth of God in chapter 40 of the Book of Job, a primeval creature created by God and so powerful that only God can overcome him. The Lord points down towards two beasts, Behemoth and Leviathan, and instructs Job (chapter 40-41), about the extent and power of His creation. The right hand marginal text, from the Book of Job, describes BEHEMOTH who dominates the LAND , as ‘the chief of the Ways of God.’ LEVIATHAN a Sea Monster, is ‘King over all the Children of Pride.’ In his book ‘Jerusalem’ Blake has these two monsters representatives of war by land and by sea. It’s seen in the discourse of God and Job that these beast was created by God and so powerful that only God can overcome them. This also was described by prophet Daniel: “He will become very strong, but NOT BY HIS OWN POWER. He will cause astounding devastation and will succeed , he will destroy many and take his stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be DESTROYED, BUT NOT OF HUMAN POWER.” Daniel 8:23-26 NIV. In Job 41:12-34 NIV https://bible.com/bible/111/job.41.12-34.NIV God described the beast; LEVIATHAN: the blasphemous Beast EMERGES from the SEA. “KING OVER ALL THE CHILDREN OF PRIDE.” Job 41:34 Pride is an attribute of the devil, “Lucifer”. This beast is considered as Sea Monster or any GIGANTIC POWERFUL THING. Haven’t you wonder what will coming out from the water? Using the power of the water with its vibrations and frequencies? This is a BLASPHEMOUS BEAST, NOTHING GOOD COMES OUT OF IT BUT ALL ARE MOCKERY TO GOD. God continued to describe to Job the extent of the beast from the earth; the BEHEMOTH being described in Job 40:15-24 NIV. https://bible.com/bible/111/job.40.15-24.NIV. “THE CHIEF OF THE WAYS OF GOD”. Job 40:19. The name has come to be used for ANY EXTREMELY LARGE OR POWERFUL ENTITY, UNCONTROLLABLE THAT EMERGES FROM THE EARTH. In Job 40:21 “Under the lotus plants it lies,hidden among the reeds in the marsh.” v. 22. “ The lotuses conceal it in their shadow; the poplars by the stream surround it.” Reveals here the connection of the flower “LOTUS” to this beast from the earth. The Lotus symbolizes in India culture as spirituality, fruitfulness, wealth, knowledge and illumination. While the book of Job described this beast from the earth as more of extremely large powerful entity and Chief spiritual being; John has a description of the Behemoth beast from the earth also in Revelation 13:11-17 NIV https://bible.com/bible/111/rev.13.11-17.NIV. This beast is the “representation”, the deceiver front liner of the the Leviathan serpent sea first beast. It exercised all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, And it performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to the earth in full view of the people. Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an “ IMAGE”; in honor of the first beast. The prince of the air; evil Leviathan sea beast is “invisible, unseen” and so the second beast was given power by the “dragon” to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak, give mind commands using the powerful vibrational frequency “mantra” and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. The unknown occurrences of this prophecies are so huge to be seen and heard yet so simple for one who has faith in God. For just having a size of a mustard seed faith makes God’s love powerful in you and help you not mislead by the irresistible deceptions of the evil spirit enslaving the world to take away man’s connections from God. John has given a warning to people in dealing with both Beasts: For the first beast in Rev.13:10”…This calls for PATIENT, ENDURANCE and FAITHFULNESS on the part of God’s people.” For the second beast Rev. 13:18 “This calls for WISDOM…”. Take heed God’s children. A day will come where all of the lies will be revealed and the Truth shall prevail! Pray! Discern!
